TWO WEEK TAKEOVER
Scratch Radio is Birmingham City University's radio station, and for two weeks (commencing the 19th of January), Radio Station students at BCU will be taking over!
We have two weeks to create a station that we want.
A voting process took place to allocate people with roles within the station for the two weeks, and I was voted Daytime Programmer.
The job responsibilities include, knowing the content of the daytime, including presenters, songs and news bulletins, in which I have to liase with Head of Music, Entertainment News and Daytime Producers, as well as the Project Managers.
So far I have created a document in which all day time presenters had to fill out so I had an idea of what their shows will have. I can then pass this on to Head of Music that can sort out any music requests, Daytime producers so they know what to expect during the day and take on any more ideas as well as Head of Social Media as they can promote them before, during and after their shows.
I have also been allocated to sort out our "live lounge" day which is happening at the end of our take over. I have had to contact studios, camera operators, presenters and musicians to get on board and so far so good! Something exciting that Scratch Radio hasn't done much of!
A lot more to do before the two weeks, but make sure you keep that date in your diary, listen in every day for scratch-tastic competitions and prizes, a "live lounge" day to get the low down on all local music and some great content and music!
