A screw washer is a small metal or plastic ring that is used to create a seal between two threaded surfaces. It is inserted in the space between the two screws and tightened down so that it presses against both surfaces and creates a seal. Screw washers are often used with nuts and bolts to create a tight seal when the bolt needs to be tightened but there isn't enough room for any other type of fastener.
