There are plenty of the chain steakhouses in town but one place does set itself apart from the usual I manage one visit to Stone Eagle Tavern each time I am in Rockford and I always get a great steak They do have 16 year old @lagavulinwhisky on the menu - on the rocks please! I began with Wood Fired Roasted Oysters Rockefeller - Fresh shucked oysters topped with a Rich As Rockefeller blend of spinach, bacon, cheesy bread crumbs then broiled. Sooooooo good.
