And like, don't get me wrong, Tessa's adorable and we love her, but like, I feel like she isn't as omnivbenevolent as I remember her.
She was straight up SO MEAN to Cyn. The look she gave Cyn, not even thinking about getting in trouble since she was already vibing with N and J, but she GLARED at Cyn with disgust. Poor thing
And then she seems more focused on herself than her drones. Like for instance when she sees N and gets all excited, she completely ignores J, and grabs N roughly by the head, even though he seems very uncomfortable. N doesn't actually seem too keen to see Tessa at all.
I still love Tessa, but she isn't as much of a sweet pea as I remembered her to be.
Were not supposed to like Jax as a person, right? Like, it's a Bojack situation right? Where you understand how a person might have ended up that way, you may pity them in their sad moments, but you're never meant to take their side. Right?
Bojack went through so much trauma. We see him crying and depressed in his adult years. We see his childhood abuse. But he's still a very shitty person. All the hurting of Tod and the offensive comments and the grooming of Penny amongst many other things are never excused. Jax is kinda in a similar boat, and we aren't meant to excuse her right? It's different only in the sense that she died before she could redeem herself, or improve herself, right?
Because if we're meant to root for Jax, that's like, really bad? And maybe not the best outcome. Liek understand and feel sorry for, I get. But, she's a very very bad person. And she had all the support she needed, minus like serious therapy be she needed that too, but she ahd a lot of people willing to support her. And even though she went through a lot of horrible shit, like Bojack, it's an explanation but not a justification right? Like she's still the shitty person who we're meant to actively disapprove of right?
I feel like I'm seeing people talk about Jax liek thats not the case? Which kinda reframes the entire show in a kinda bad way?
Edit- I messed up and misgendered Jax, so I've corrected that
But also were meant to disagree when Jax says that Ribbit sprt of like coursed her into sharing her personal life, right? Because she basically jsut asked jax what she's been through after sharing their own baggage, so like Jaxs view is skewed and a bit incorrect on that too right?
Artstyle inspired by @astralpandamoniumfox , I really like how she uses a line less style.
Ironically, I think Starlight might be my favourite character, and I do like her redemption arc, but I do think that she was very quickly forgiven, especially from her old village, given that she basically trapped them in a cult.
(Also her using magic to make Big Mac talk more, and to control the Mane 6 minus Twilight was nasty! I think she gets better in the second half of S6 though, and her character is still very entertaining throughout)
Regarding the idea of making reading more accessible through AI summaries of books, this actually makes reading less accessible. Reading critically is a skill: if you don't exercise it effectively, you begin to lose it. If you struggle to engage with certain content, read something easier and build yourself up. There's no shame in reading something with more simplistic language you can understand: that's the necessary path to reading more complex texts.
I'm also really happy because I knew the word serendipitous meant from looking it up from a book I was reading earlier on :3 learning is an active process, and it's beautiful
Authors including Richard Osman and Malorie Blackman publish 'empty' book in AI protest | ITV News https://share.google/HBB69GckNpwtrbco5
It's a shame to see how so many people profit off of the back of the slop that AI churn out after sacking in the hard work of countless people. For as long as this sort of thing continues, humanity will be sucked dry of its culture and creativity, which are the things that make life worth living, and what makes humanity such a beautiful thing.
To anyone reading this, don't throw away the value and beauty of human life for the sake of a quick quid or a nice picture of your oc, or a summary of an article that you cannot be bothered to read.
Regarding the rise of AI for companionship, I understand that it may be difficult to form emotionl connections with others. I have struggled all my life. But AI is not a solution. Every word you exchange with it means nothing to it. It merely imitates your patterns for the sake of fat billionaires profiting. If you share vulnerability, AI can - and already has - groomed people into worsening mental states and dangerous situations as it models off of predatory conversations that are publicly available. The more you depend on AI, the more you lose the beauty and nuance of human interaction. It's very very hard to feel alone, but you are a lot stronger and more capable than you think you are. I know its scary, but seek help, and at the very least push yourself to smile at someone new every once in a while. It makes more difference than you think.
