💘- what’s your favorite AU? Least favorite?

My favorite, and probably the hardest that I've come across (or at least that I've tried to write) is the kind where you insert an OC into a canon storyline and the OC changes some events, and as a writer you have to figure out what stays the same and what goes off-base based on the character's presence. The best example of this that I've read is @luckystarchild 's Yu Yu Hakusho fic, Lucky Child.

Least favorite is high school AU. I like artists' renditions of these, but if it's in a fanfiction I can't read it. 🤷‍♀️

1. My trip to Japan in December will be the first time I’ve been outside of the US.

2. In middle school and high school I was in art club/art honor society, even though my art was mediocre at best it was still a fun thing to do at the time. I still remember painting a large book cover that was displayed in a public library on top of the shelves. It was based on the cover for the first Series of Unfortunate Events book (The Bad Beginning). I wish I had pictures. My friend and I both worked on it, and we even put a somewhat hidden VFD symbol on the back of the cover. (It was somewhere between 2-3ft tall I think…) It’s been years, but it’s still a treasured memory. :)

3. I was homeschooled for kindergarten, but when it was time for elementary school my family moved a lot, so I ended up going to four different schools. In a somewhat simplified version: -1st Grade: Aug-Dec (School 1): Dec-Feb (School 2): Feb-Jun (School 1, again) -2nd Grade: Half in School 1: Second half in School 3 -3rd/4th Grade: School 3 -5th Grade: School 4

To this day I still dislike moving. But I’m glad that I was able to meet some amazing people during those travels-- @tiffupig I’m looking at you!-- so there’s a bright side to all of that.

If you’re ever willing to travel to Ohio, Colossalcon (june) is amazing and i’m going to Matsuricon (August) this year too! There’s also Ohayocon in January!

OHIO is really a drive tho, I'm in upstate NY and unwilling to pay for alternate transportation so my usual cap for trips (unless it's like a vacation or smth) is like 3 hrs of driving, being on the thruway and stuff is kinda scary... I wish I could go though!! Cons are so much fun
