aaron easily pushed the chair in as alexander was seated, moving over to his own chair across from the other. he was surprised by how well the other was taking this situation — aaron sure that the prince would have chosen someone far different than himself for a date. but, he wasn’t going to push the other away. they were similar in some aspects and aaron had always longed to connect with someone who truly understood him. he shook his head quickly. “of course i’m not disappointed! why should i be?” he asked. he was sure the other assumed aaron held the same opinion as others when it came to alexander and his reputation. but, that couldn’t be further from the truth. alexander was everything aaron wished he could be — to rebel against his father was something he craved. the closest he came to doing so was being on this very date. “the only person who would be disappointed is my father, but this isn’t his date, now is it?” he asked, a small smile on his lips. it was rare for him to joke like this, but there was something about the other that made it easy. “usually, one would ask about what they do and what not, but such questions seem rather unnecessary.”
