jack worriedly pressed his lips together, fingers fidgeting. “don’t get me wrong — i am beyond thankful that you have offered your home to me. i just worry about those who may have gotten stuck out there. they could be experiencing frostbite or fell,” he said as he scrunched up his nose. “but most wouldn’t be an idiot like me and find themselves out there in the first place. so, maybe everything is fine. i’m sure it’s fine,” he continued with a shake of his head, trying to soothe his own worry. “you must think i’m a mess. which, i am, so i don’t blame you for thinking such. i will surely repay you in any way that i can. though, i doubt i could give you anything you don’t already have — you seem to be a very well put together person.”
