while caine was attempting to the best of his ability to enjoy his night, it was growing progressively difficult. he had decided to grab a glass of red wine and discreetly slip some blood into it, a trick he had learned from his cousin. the glass would satiate his cravings for a short while, but he wasnāt meant to be around this many humans at once. he was in his own daze as he wandered through the crowd of masked faces when someone unexpectedly bumped into him, thankful that the other was quick to help steady him. āno need to apologise, i wasnāt exactly paying attention.ā a nervous chuckle left him as he noticed the way the strangerās hands lingered on him. they smelled beyond heavenly. he shouldāve simply walked away, but he couldnāt help himself. āit would be an honour to share a dance with you. i mean⦠i feel like itās the least i can do to make up for our little collision.ā a gentle smile formed as he offered a hand out to the other. āletās share it in one of the studies though, i feel as if it would be more special that way.ā
"an honour?" peter repeated, laughing softly and shaking his head. "the honour would be mind. this all feels like some sort of dream -- like i'm finally living in my stupid little fantasies," he admitted, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck before reaching out to take the man's hand. "but, if i can experience something more special than this, i need it. when will i ever get to do this again?" he said as he gently lead the way to the empty study he'd mentioned. luckily, it was still thus, the door giving a soft click as it closed behind them. it was quieter, but not too much so that you couldn't tell there was a ball happening a few metres away beyond the closed door. "now, i won't get distracted and can fully focus on you -- as you deserve," he lightly teased, slightly nervous hands reached out to rest on the other man's chest. to be this close to another was definitely getting to him, his usual charm toning down to enjoy the romantic intimacy. "how lucky am i?" he asked softly to himself as he admired the other, hands curiously shifting up the man's chest to connect behind the other's neck. "it's not correct, but if we could dance this closely, i would be in debt to you."
