Hey so how would i write a graphic torture scene on a novel. So let's say this person did something wrong but we domt know what yet and he awoke in a black room with people circling him.

So basically I wanna start it slow but let's say, doing some cuts on his body.

Slowly build up to stabbing certains area without killing him let's say feet or hands.

Then it reaches to a certain point to doing something more extreme. Maybe cutting his tongue off, or fingers or toes. I'm not sure.

And he still doesn't confess or realise what he did wrong. He dies. Or dies slowly or painfully. I've read dark and graphic novels or seen movies like this. But I wanna know how I could do it without making it sound weird or unprofessional.

Hi! I was wondering: Imagine an evil scientist, or a reasearch group, who do incredibly horrific experiments at their own volition, with the "For Science/greater good" excuse. Would those scientist suffer psychological trauma from what they did? Or would their willingness to do extreme things be indicative of poblems with their psyche on default to begin with?

What might be some effects of someone suffering long term torture once, healing after several years, then being ambushed and tortured a second time? The techniques used were similar, but the torturer looked completely different. Would he be afraid of those two body types/voices/other traits after the second torture? Would it change anything knowing that the second time the torture was much shorter because there were people looking for him?
