Alright, gonna run tonight and try to stay off Tumblr for another week. Given that there’s nothing enforcing this commitment, I expect to be back online within the night, but…you know. Gonna try, at least.
Backsliding is so easy. I'm assuming that my cumulative efforts in taking breaks from Tumblr (admittedly under grades-influenced duress) means that I'll be able to hiatus it again a little more easily...but I don't know. Going to try and log off for the remainder of the year BUT actually really truly for real.
If I log back on, I'm going to type up some big-post along any one of the following lines:
Talking about cool physics concepts (have gestured towards this)
Sharing a personal religious experience (have done this)
Music review (have posted song/album reviews 4-6 times)
Short original fiction snippet (have done this a few times)
Piano recordings that are better-practiced (recently done btw)
Anything else I find effort-filled and worth my time
Running for the first time in weeks doing a Turkey Trot 5K, will post my time next week when I’m back on Tumblr. Hoping for under 19:00 but who’s to say; I haven’t really been running regularly. Personal record is 18:10 so I’ll really be pushing it, but they say the prime of your running career is your mid-to-late 20’s.
Also next week on Tumblr: probably updates on fanfic, probably religious posting, definitely a recording of the piano songs I’ve been learning this past month because I’m at a good piano instead of the middling ones on campus, probably some fusion-posting or physics-adjacent posts, and probably talking about the Cradle animatic because I’m watching that w/ cousin and twin brother tomorrow (hopefully).
I’m back. Probably going to make Tumblr a weekly or semiweekly occurrence from now on. Haven’t shaken my vices (web serials, manwha, ao3, etc.) but now I can see them a little more clearly as probably-compulsive/addictive rather than “but people are on there and need to know I’m there!” Like, no one’s going to pay attention if I stop reading something I don’t even comment on.
It’s the end of an era, in a way. A good one. At some point I’ll be a real outside-goer, a toucher of grass.
Didn’t spend time thinking of poasts so it’ll mostly be reblogs today.
Queue is empty…first time in a few months. Gonna try to keep my queue mostly empty.
Alright back offline for the week. Might try and stay offline for the rest of the year? I’m trying to stop using scrolling as a mind-wipe of responsibilities; scrolling Tumblr and other stuff really lets me brush stuff under the rug.
Next time I post these three piano songs it’ll be less bad. Maybe tonight (as those recordings are two weeks old), maybe in a couple weeks. Who knows.
What I do know is I want to play more, not just because I’m using piano to avoid Tumblr but also actual work.
