I went to the Scuba Show today. (yesterday technically, at this point)
Bought some rad stuff for diving. Bought a diving hat (a baseball hat with a diver/flag on it) and ran into my old instructor while doing so! Supported and hung out with Sea Shepherd again for a while. Won a free (limited edition) shirt at a raffle for a dive center/resort in Cozumel. (which I have to go to for both the diving AND winning the raffle lol). Found a SWEET camera for pursuing my underwater photography more (did not buy, as it’s pricey, but WAY worth it). Also found an underwater detector maker which is epic.
My dad and I could only make it for about 3 1/2 hours, and closer to 3, since we left about 25 minutes before closing, but we got lots, had great conversations, and some cool free stuff as well as purchases.
There are some bad eggs I’ve experienced in the world of diving, but the Scuba Show is always amazing. I’ve always ever had a great time there, and this year seemed to be far more chill and relaxed, which was excellent.
We also ran into the guy who took my money over a year ago and disappeared (for advanced training), and ALLEGEDLY he’s actually going to finish my advanced.
