There’s an unbothered glance from the hedgehog, about to turn tail and leave—as if this being has made no impact on his bearing, a speck in the road. Of course, he doesn’t expect the other’s insecurity to bury so deep that he dare threaten him. The shadow stops completely still, eyes slowly following the finger shoved in his face, and peering up at the other’s eyes with deadly pace. And so, Mephiles turns back to the usurper.

And in the blink of an eye, a hand cold as ice wraps around the other’s fist. It’s frigid and deadly, warning as fingers turn into pointed claws.

shadow fans are either some of the chillest mfs out there, or the most insane, and sometimes they are both. i hate takes on shadow that make him cruel and mean and intentionally rude and i feel like a lot of people who see him that way/depict him that way are actually just projecting their own nastiness onto shadow and just use him as a mouthpiece. and i can say this, because i've interacted with these type of shadow fans before! and they're even more unpleasant OOC!!

i think we've reached a general consensus that shadow isn't just mean, he's just jaded and probably super autistic so a lot of the way he comes off can be read that way - but it's the people who intentionally make him mean and callous and weirdly passive aggressive with the soul intention of using him as an excuse to be mean to others that i can't stand.

Trespassing, breaking and entering, violating private property— jeez, abandoned or not, he’s made himself very welcome very quickly, wringing out his jacket in the doorway as he tries to warm up.

Which probably isn’t the nicest thing for the homeowner to stumble into.

Shadow might not like Scourge (but then again, who did?) or find him particularly interesting (he'd save that contemplative energy for Sonic proper, thanks) but he does have to give the green lookalike credit where credit is due.
