My beloved Eric Tseng, SD13B Shizu and one of the oldest bjds in my collection. I got his head at the Volks LA Sumika opening and obtained his body--with the coveted ‘gun hands’--from Yahoo Japan in 2006. Faceup by me; beautiful hakama ensemble by Volks. 

Even though popular aesthetics have traveled pretty far from 05 and 06, and I love the giant guys as much as anyone, there is still so much I love about these older Volks dolls and body designs. The SD13 boy body is graceful, stable, easy to handle and pose, and has wonderful tactility and presence. Even though Eric is quite yellow now, the color doesn’t bother me at all.

Another summer kimono/ yukata pyjama for SD13.

I hope you all are having an amazing summer wherever you are. While it is still winter in Australia, I can’t wait until summer comes, days will be longer, and the sun is blazing. I’m feeling Mabo (the doll in the picture) could get a little tan. He’s so white, now that I realised how white the resin is. But I’m not crazy enough to fry my doll under the sun, haha.
