Trials of Mana protagonists - for the prompt "Upside Down" (part 1)
Trials of Mana is pretty much one of my favourite RPGs, so the remake has me So Excited
I hope they have made new models for the class changes and such, I always loved how the sprites in the menu had different outfits!! I kinda went with the archmage class for Angela here
Fic: Festival
My entry for Challenge #3 in my Trials of Mana community -- post-canon Altena fic (300 words):
*****
When Riesz arrived in Altena, Angela set about planning a big festival -- the first in Altena since the destruction of the Mana Tree -- to mark her visit.
"Oh, you shouldn't plan a celebration on my account…" Riesz protested when Angela pitched her ideas to her -- rows of stalls lining the castle courtyard, and music and lights and contests.
"Don't worry," Angela assured her, "it's not entirely on your account. I was just looking up traditional Altenish festivals and thought it would be a good time to revive them, you know?"
When Duran looked over the plans for the event, all the booths they would need, the food and materials, he also voiced his doubts about whether a festival was really a good idea at this time.
But Angela's flame wasn't dimmed one bit. "Don't underestimate the life-changing power of a good party!" she had said cheerfully.
She knew it was a big sacrifice to ask of people, to put so many of their resources into this party with the cold coming in. But in the end, everyone felt it was worth it, to have children running around the town square, laughing with delight.
Angela looked around the town square, decorated with lines of colorful lights. In the past, the lights would have been magical ones, glowing heatlessly and gleaming in different, shifting colors on their own. But this time, the townsfolk had created their own colorful lights by using wax candles nestled in balls of colored paper. They didn't change colors, but the rainbows lights lining the castle nevertheless made for an enchanting sight against the white snow.
There was no more magic in Altena, Angela had told everyone when she had announced the festival, so this year they would just have to make our own -- and they had.
