Jasper was keeping his distance as he watched his classmates enjoy the bonfire, finding a quiet area for himself, away from the music distorting his hearing and sipping from a plastic cup with something in it that made his nostrils burn at the smell. He felt lost now more then ever with school soon to be behind him, he had no plans for his future, his dreams and wishes out the window along with his health and he simply felt stuck. He was so caught up in his own thoughts that he didn’t see someone approach him, jumping in fright and spilling some of the liquid onto his lap when they came into vision, “Shit, you scared the crap out of me.” He commented, his heart beating hard against his chest, “Decided to get away from the maddening crowd, or did you need to find a tree to puke on?”

Everett had been known to go on a bit of a spiel from time to time, he was just so passionate about many things that once he started it became hard to stop, it’s what had been happening at this moment when he realized that his words were now going unheard and the person he was talking to had zoned out. Waving his hand in front of their face he shook his head, “You know I could be delivering words of wisdom and knowledge to you about the future right now and you wouldn’t know it because you’re ignoring me. Should I take my company to someone who actually wants it?”

“Okay but, I can’t believe this means we’re the oldest in the school now? I mean, me? I still get lost on the way to charms!”

“You know you really shouldn’t be surprised that Slytherin won the House Cup. We may be bad but we never get caught and lose points,” Pippa said, grinning wickedly, “The Quidditch Cup would have been nice but 6000 points is a pretty good way to end my time here.”

"Just look away and don’t be judgy, just look away and don’t be judgy,” Sera mumbled to herself when she noticed kids drinking something that certainly didn’t smell like pumpkin juice. She was there just to observe and patch up whoever scraped their knee, not ruin their fun. Besides, she did exactly the same thing when she was at school, so she knew how much everyone needed that party.

Archie couldn’t really believe that he was almost done with school, that he was almost free. While he didn’t have a good idea of what he wanted to do with his life, he knew one thing for sure - he didn’t want to stay in the country. He wanted to go and see the world, and not worry about being compared to his brother. He was treating the part as sort of his goodbye party. “You do know it’s just a game, right? Nothing is going to happen if you lose, so just relax,” he told the other player who seemed to look tense.

“Well, well, well. We made it.” Albus grinned looking out in the fire. He couldn’t believe he was finally saying goodbye to Hogwarts and his studies. He didn’t know if he was ready, but here Albus stood with his peers hoping he was.

EVENT 020 - SUMMER BONFIRE NIGHT 2024

Every year students look forward to the end of the school year. Some simply welcoming the summer holidays while others celebrating their graduation from Hogwarts. One thing that brings everyone together for one last time is the annual end of year bonfire. Notorious for having troubling events happen in the past years including a Dark Mark sighting, Death Eaters and even the Gossip Witches having their fun with the students, people seem to look forward to the bonfire no matter what.

This year is no exception and the bonfire will go on as planned. Many students are ready to let loose and enjoy themselves one last time while some are suspicious that anything could happen. In order to take necessary precautions, some professors and aurors will also be present at the bonfire to keep a watchful eye and supervise the bonfire night. After all, this event has been unpredictable in the past before...

The bonfire will go on from the Saturday the 20th of June at 12 noon GMT to the Tuesday the 30th of June at the same time. In RP-time, it’s just one night. During this event we ask you to put all student characters’ current conversations on hold to make room for event-only threads. This is a student only event but if you believe that your non-student character would attend the bonfire as a friend or date of a student character, that is fine too. Professors and aurors can also be present as supervision. Please track the tag #sdhqbonfire3 for starters in addition to #sdhqstarter !! Remember to tag all non-event starters with #nonevent or something along those lines to differentiate between starters. We will also provide optional emoji starters for anyone not participating in the event which can also be used after the event if you would like to. Please keep your eyes peeled for a post on the secrets blog as well for posts about dares.

Reminder: We need you all to vote for the seventh year superlatives here, they will be announced during the event. Please also remember to vote for a house cup winner in our group’s Discord chat, this and the Quidditch cup winner will be announced as soon as the event begins. Don’t forget to read the other post on the main regarding what y’all need to do for graduating students !!
