ok but I am dissapointed that we probably won’t get to see Bellamy covered in the blood of 300 people that he helped slaughter. or at least the scene where he actually goes around slaughtering them. I don’t want to see him all sanitised
why do I have such high moral standards for Clarke (that she consistently fails haha) and not for the rest of the characters??? Octavia killed about five people so far in self-defense. but???? like, that’s pretty not right but it somehow seems bound by a code of necessity. Indra would have liked to torture a dude for information (though that doesn’t fucking work) but I still like her. I mean I still like Clarke too.
Lexa has people killed at her sole discretion and essentially the drop of a hat (seriously important political life/death drops of hats but still).
There’s some parts about Clarke’s characterisation that I’m not sure I can take as characterisation? Because it simply seems too much a function of the plot? It’s like she simply CAN’T get too fucked up over how she’s killed about 900 people (holy fuck) because then we’d be out of a main character. Or how she just HAD to pull the lever in the Mountain without broadcasting the ultimatum to the actual people she was about to kill because we needed a big finale. This meta knowledge makes it hard to incorporate those events into my general idea of her character.
also this reminded me that there are SO MANY fanfics where Clarke finally has a breakdown and goes pretty damn crazy after the Mountain in a spiral of guilt and it is SO FUNNY to me that on the contrary in the actual show Clarke is actually pretty fine. small angry outburst towards Lexa that looked pretty wild but was really a function of how she blames LEXA for ‘having had no choice’. MY GIRL. you had a choice. you always have a choice. take responsibility for the choice. I thought that was what your lonely trek through the woods was about: dealing with the reality of having made a seriously evil CHOICE.
