[REMARK] for lucas and chris u____u
[ REMARK ] : after someone passes a remark on what a cute couple the seemingly platonic sender and receiver are, the sender casts a meaningful glance at the receiver, expecting them to say something about it first.
if it wasn't for the way lucas was straight up eyeing him in what seemed like an attempt to predict his reaction, christian would've just assumed he misheard the all too inquisitive off-the-clock reporter. cute couple. have they been acting couple-ish? he does have a habit of googly eyeing the hockey player every time he opens his mouth, but he can't help that one. have you seen lucas? christian has also been touching the other randomly, from whispering in his ear so they can properly hear one another to apparently taking his sweet time dusting some lint off of his chest. but that? that's all innocent. no ulterior motive there. if anything, it's much more relaxed compared to how they are around one another when they're behind closed doors. so for such easy actions to call for a romantic remark like that? christian's almost inclined to laugh. but he's aware that here, with lucas' and a complete stranger's eyes on him, laughing can come across entirely wrong. he doesn't want to hurt the other's feelings and make it seem like they're not together because christian doesn't like him. he does enjoy lucas — much more than he bargained for. so the only way to manage a predicament like this? delicately. a.k.a. nowhere near christian's area of expertise. still, he keeps lucas' eye contact as he shakes his head, offering a near polite grin to the reporter when his gaze finally breaks. "we're not together," he corrects decisively and certainly pulling no punches. "hockey and football don't mesh as well as you might think." a light shrug rolls off of his shoulders as his gaze shifts towards the hockey player's once again, "he has been showing me how to work with a stick, though, so not a total lost cause."
