New wig for Oliver from Salafina. I’d been waiting to get this style since I got him. I also flipped his eyes around - they’re lilac on one half and fuschia on the other, and I had them showing more of the fuschia before. Showing more of the lilac gives a different look.
Forgot to post this here before but the 28th of Feb was the 25th anniversary of Super Dollfie! Like last year I gathered all the SDs for a photo - the only new one since then is SDM Oliver.
Some Olivers I forgot to put here! I changed his eyes to these sparkly fuschia ones I got as a freebie when I bought some different eyes, I like how they make him look more ethereal. All the wigs I want for him are sold out everywhere, but his default has grown on me so much I don’t mind waiting.
I procrastinated a bit on this post but 2 weeks ago I finally got to attend another Dolpa event (Dolpa 49 to be exact), and ended up taking home one of the new dolls there - SuperDollfie Midi Oliver! He’s one of those dolls that grabbed me as soon as I first saw him in the same way boyhood Cecile (Cygnus) did, because I have a very clear type when it comes to doll faces I guess (which is ‘looks like a naughty cat, has a slightly open mouth’.) Oliver was extra appealing to me for being a SDM (which I don’t have yet but had been wanting), and for cute magnetic ears (goat ears, which are a brand new type for Volks!). I’m also really charmed by his white eyelashes (also new for Volks, allegedly? I know they had ‘ivory’ before, but the show white type is new.)
To tell the truth I wasn’t a huge fan of his wig right out of the box, especially because I didn’t have immediate access to styling tools. But there are free to use ones in Akihabara Doll Point, which is where I took the first photo, and now that his wig is manageable I like it enough that I’m undecided on if I’ll change it. I did get him one from Dolk as a temporary one in case I couldn’t take the messy default, but I’ll do a separate post with those pics. The rest of the photos in this post are from the Volks Yokohama store.
Aside from the wig I’m also conflicted about his name, because I really like the name Oliver. I do want to try out a bunch of different eyes in him though, so I’ll make a post of that too.
I got the new hand parts I ordered for Oliver and finally took some pics. Also, because his eyes are half fuchsia and half violet, they look different depending on the angle and lighting…I like the violet better, so I might rotate them so that side shows better.
Here’s a bunch of pics of Oliver in the alternate wig I got for him. I don’t really like how chunky the bangs look though, and how it puts a shadow on his face. I might see if I can go about point cutting the fringe a bit because the style and colour is really cute.
The first pics are in the Volks Yokohama store and the others are in the Akihabara store (ie Doll Point). The doll-size cutouts are of the Doll Point manager lol.

This one is kinda odd because the first half is shot in my hotel after Dolpa while the second half is at home, and I didn’t record some parts properly which meant I had to splice some of the barely usable parts together which were test shots originally (the turntable parts).
