Even half of what you have.
If only they saw.
They would say kinder things, surely.”

Khaled Hosseini’s books hurt in ways i don’t want to talk about
Sea Prayer by Khaled Hosseini
It haunts me like the brittle silences in room stinking with the foreseeablity of grief, like the coercion of existence in bedridden life.
The lines about the mothers and daughters in the gaps of concrete, the swimming pool imagery, the precious cargo endearment will burn like an eternal fragrance of evanescent incense. The whole arc of halcyon days to days of escaping war brought me to tears.
And the artwork, goodness the artwork. I think these are watercolor illustrations or so i assume. But every page of this book is nurturing a story on its own, breathing stifling life in the attic because the art is too painful to spill the memory jar open. Ughh I know I am spewing nonsensical metaphors but i just don't know how to describe the whirring feelings within me. ~ eni
