I almost fit
i took these during sea fair in Seattle. there were some marines here from camp Pendelton, passive recruiting. they were very nice to talk to, and to admire. although it doesn't look like it, the marine in the last 2 pics was a ginger, and had a very bad sunburn. i'm also a ginger, and i know from exp, he had a 2nd degree burn. i did talk to him, and like me, he's had them many times.
This week has been the requisite Loud Airplane Noises Week here in Seattle, when SeaFair happens and the Blue Angels do their air show. I don't mean like regular airplane noise, I'm actually pretty close to a commercial airplane fly path and I get regular airplane noise all the time and don't really even notice it (the last apartment I lived in was also near a fly path, airplanes are just part of life for me now I guess). But the Blue Angels are like, unbelievably loud. If I leave the window open it's genuinely frightening. My cats flee from the living room in fear when they come by
All this week they've just been practicing, when the weekend comes they will do the for-real show and half of Seattle will be in the park next to my apartment to watch them and the residential street that our garage exits on will be packed with cars when I want to go out and get groceries. At least the city is apparently towing any cars that are parked on one of the streets for the duration, that should help a little
I hate this military fetishism
hey do me a favor
Please email them and ask SeaFair to find a new location next year that doesn’t fly over residential neighborhoods, main roadways. They terrorize the region for a week every year. People with noise sensitivity fear this annual week if they are unfortunate enough to be in the audio splash zone. We can easily see “US NAVY” on the side of planes from inside my living room. My animals believe it’s the End. [email protected]
