What you said is true, tho I was truly thinking any kind of mixed race, I feel like Blasian is also for exemple highly fetishized because of the trope that they might see the "angry" black side toned down by the "soft spoken" (east)asian side, I was saying mixed race in general because of the impossibility of most people to recognize where the hell people come from, but that's from my European pov, I always forget that the USA has this extremely weird one drop institution
Again I agree with your meaning but have to pick apart the terms just for the sake of conversation because I’m blasian but again I don’t look like what White Supremacy generally identifies as blasian so no one even considers that I am unless I tell them.
The US definition of mixed race isn’t so much a result of the one drop issue as much as it is an ignorance of racial diversity. ‘Mixed race’ means ‘black and white’ to them, excluding racial mixes within asian, latin, indigenous, pacific island and african ethnicities.
Black and Asian is only recognized inasmuch as ‘Asian’ means ‘East Asian’. In the case where the Asian ethnicity is not the one they praise- the selectively imported visuals of Japanese, Korean, and Thai women- they don’t recognize it as well, especially because other Asians are often brown.
The issue is that in America race IS color. The irony is that these people consider themselves ‘colorblind’ but the issue is actually that they ONLY see color and are totally blind to ethnicity, having lost their own.
