Something possessed me mid flight and I made this GODFORSAKEN thing
Myron in the trunk of the Highway Man when the chosen one accidentally runs over a group of geckos:
BLEASE give me Frank Horrigan headcanon(s) anything I am starving (no pressure no pressure.)
HELLO ANON! YES! I have some interesting Frankie hcs! Hope you enjoy em.
- Doesn't actually realise he's a mutant but doesn't exactly think he's not human. He can tell something is up based on the treatment he received.
- Always kinda been super aggressive and mean. A lot of people at the enclave base kind of avoided him and found it odd. His bosses didn't though!
- Always been super muscular and strong. Worked in the warehouses as a kid and before joining the military. Used to beat lower ranking and weaker soldiers. Had his own little group too.
- Got conscripted, but planned to join anyway. Enjoyed the power being a soldier gave him so he devoted himself to it. Started making friends with equally aggressive people.
-Really doesn't like the president. Doesn't that the enclave shouldn't be run by someone so weak, so small.
- Favourite food is apple pie, especially his Ma's. Super fucking pissed off that he can't eat it due to his armor. Or anything about his ma. Or past.
- He doesn't actually really care that much, at least, that's what he thinks.
- Played American football as a kid, played it as a regular soldier and played it even as a mutant. People would pay big money to see ol' Frankie bowl some poor bastard over.
Paladin Danse HCs
Requested by @xxrein-rausxx. Thank you for your request! Please enjoy!
Danse always found it weird that he could not remember ever seeing himself as a child or young boy.
He also found it odd that one day, people who he'd be selling scrap to or trading with ever since he was a "child" didn't know him after he turned 20. He thought it was a weird prank and didn't like it.
Soon, he managed to get enough caps and decided to get out of D.C. and to Rivet City.
He also considers his gaps in memory to be a result of combat injuries.
Suffers from depersonalisation derealisation, especially when thinking about his past. When he was younger he'd get panic attacks about it, but, with help from the BOS medical unit, they helped him manage them.
It got worse when he learned he was a synth. Now with existential dread and intense self-hatred.
Again, with the help of Curie and other doctors, along with the Railroad he learned to manage them and come to terms that he is a synth.
He apologises to Nick and Hancock, along with other synths, ghouls, or mutants he was rude to.
Scribe Haylen actually sneaks him a letter from time to time.
He absolutely ADORES cats. He ends up adopting them.
Would often tell stories about D.C. and his time fighting to young squires and later wasteland children.
I'd love to hear some Hancock headcanons if you have any!
ANON. I AM SO SORRY FOR PULLING A CENTRELINK ON YOU. THIS WAS SENT TO ME IN FUCKING JANUARY 20TH IT'S NOW MARCH IM SO SORRY. HERE THEY ARE. I DON'T HAVE A LOT BUT HERE MY ANON, TAKE THEM.
John Hancock
Definitely believes in your family is the friends you make not the one you’re born with.
Definitely had chem problems as a teenager, they put him into rehab and it sort of worked
Knew Nick Valentine even as a kid. They’re pretty solid friends, but sees Nick as a father figure.
Deep down always respected ghouls, especially pre-war ghouls. To survive one of the most horrific events in history, loose all your skin (or hair), still live but be in immense pain. Live with the knowledge that all your loved ones are dead, all the pre-war comforts gone with them. Then to be hunted and persecuted by a few groups just for simply existing. Awful. And did I *mention the long ass life?* His respect for them only skyrocketed after the anti-ghoul law was implemented.
Has an intense fascination and interest in pre-war artifacts and culture, but, doesn’t care about history, being drawn to John Hancock was just a random fluke. He often hangs around pre-war ghouls in hopes they’d tell him a story or two.
He’s always been incredibly rowdy, and the parties he’d throw in diamond city? Absolutely insane and wild. They even got wilder once he became Mayor of Goodneighbor.
Genuinely did not care for history sober, but on mentats? oh boy…. He took some mentats before he took that radiation chem hence his John Hancock persona.
Here’s a particular headcanon about the drug he took: it was produced by West-tek was trialled as a chemo drug, however, it was actually a drug to learn more about ghoulification. As we already know, there were two instances of people going ghoul pre-war, and I’d assume that there were many more (notably the nuclear summer of New York, the nuking of the Middle East and even as far back as Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If i’ve made a mistake or forgot to mention any particular pieces of lore let me know) People definitely knew about ghoulification, or- the government and corporations, but they managed to keep it hush hush and convinced people that they were rumours. Anyway, this drug was trialled on stage 4 and 5 cancer patients to see if ghoulification could reverse cancer or pre-existing illness.
Marcus headcanons? ❤️
Hell yeah! Some of these headcanons go over fo1, fo2 and fnv. I've also added some little tidbits of Jacobstown headcanons as a little bonus. I love mutants in fallout so this was really fun. Thank you for the request, I hope you enjoy them.
Marcus (+ Jacobstown) Headcanons
He was slightly higher up, not like lieutenant or really important, certainly not just a random foot soldier, probably a platoon commander, maybe slightly higher. It’s also why a lot of mutants from the masters army and even nightkin will listen to him.
Used to be in charge of a platoon Tabitha was in before she was chosen to become a nightkin. It’s why she trusted him quite a lot before Rhonda died, but her mind convinced her he broke her, so she left.
Always been interested in politics. His vault experiment was what someone's life would be if everything about it was steeped in politics and preparing them for leading outside the vault. He was trained to be a leader.
This actually helped him quite a lot with his skills in the Master’s army, his time as mayor of Broken Hills and later on, Jacobstown.
Still is a bit bitter about the Vault Dweller destroying the vats, however, doesn’t take it out on the Chosen One.
Absolutely *hated* travelling in the Highway man because of how cramped it was. Also hated the desert because of how fucking hot it was because there was no A/C or Radio. I mean seriously, I’m Australian and I hate the heat so much, and I’m tiny. Can you imagine being fucken gargantuan and living in the MOJAVE/CALIFORNIAN DESERT, HOLY SHIT.
For the first few months of his time as super mutant, he didn’t really remember a lot of his life as a human. However, he was drawn to politics, so whenever he was out, he would try to sneak in books about political theories, historical figures and how to successfully lead things.
He remembers a lot more of his human life than he lets on, as later on his memories came back to him. He really didn’t like life in his vault due to cutthroat nature of politics.
Tabitha also came from the same vault and they knew each other. They didn’t really interact or speak a lot, but Tabitha doesn’t exactly remember anything from when she was a human. Marcus thinks she hasn’t really changed at all, in both personality and appearance.
Neil was one of the first people he met after he awoke as a super mutant.
Doesn’t seem like the guy who likes to fight, however. He was a lot nicer to humans than other mutants, so he often dealt with the unity folks.
When he was younger, he was more inclined to fight mostly because he felt like he had a lot more vitality then, despite not liking it. However, now, he’ll absolutely use diplomacy and only fights as an absolute last resort.
He also does help out with the psykers. He’ll hang out with them occasionally and talk. Trying to make sense of their blind rambling or comfort them when they’re freaking out.
Due to the nightkin’s proneness to addiction, mental illness and psychotic breakdowns, chems and alcohol are strictly forbidden. However, if found of residential mutants, he has a strict belief in rehabilitation and not punishment. Outsiders who trade it or bring it in with them with the intent to sell have it taken away and destroyed, along with being fined if they do it again.
Before he reached out to Dr Henry, he considered reaching out to the Followers for help, but he decided not to because of how far it is.
Marcus watched Dr Henry like a hawk due to his relations on the Enclave for the first year he was in Jacobstown.
Kent Connolly?
Thank you for request! Kent Connolly is probably one of my favourite ghouls!
Pretty good at drawing! After the war he had a stint where he'd make one-shot continuations to comfort himself. I'd say 20-25 before he got burnt out. He either, lost, destroyed or sold some of them.
He still does draw and is trying to remaster the comics. He does commissions! MacCready commissioned him to make a "get well soon" card and small doodles when he sends letters to Duncan back in D.C.
He's always been pretty insecure, but, at some point he gained some confidence. Unfortunately, during Vic's reign over Good neighbour obliterated that. His men once destroyed a few of his comics.
Idk how to explain it, but he kinda has Silver Shroud pretend to advise him on stuff or help take care of himself. Like, somedays he can't really bring himself to make food or live for the day, but the shroud in his head encourages him to do so. It's helped him this far.
He and the other pre-war Goodneighbour ghouls actually get together 4 times a year to talk and have a support Group. Kent brings pre-war holotapes and movies.
Pre-war he'd volunteer at shelters and would work at a comic book store.
