Sea Monstr Sushi
Located on 55 Powell Street, in Gastown, Sea Monstr Sushi is a tiny Japanese restaurant that can be easily over looked at when walking too fast in Gastown. But do try and catch this place when you’re down that area and grab a bite because they serve up some good Japanese food.
To be honest, when I stepped foot into the place, I was surprised how small the place is. Basically, when you walk in the sushi bar is to your left with maximum 10 chairs and four mini tables in the back. With many praises coming from my friends about this place, I knew this place wont disappoint.
I had a Chrashi Don, which is a assorted sashimi with sushi rice; and also a Combo B nigiri set, which comes with tuna, salmon, ebi, unagi, tamago, tako, hotate, ikura. I really enjoyed the Chrashi Don, as I thought it was one of the best chirashi in the town, the sashimi were fresh and flavourful. The set Combos were also delicious and fresh. The place does get packed frequently, so if you're on a tight schedule, I suggest you order take-out.
All and all, I definitely enjoyed Sea Monstr Sushi and will be visiting them again.
