If Sylus got hurt while trying to protect me (because of my mistake) I'd feel incredibly guilty and try to make it up to him? Cheeky banter is nice and all but sometimes I gotta scratch my head at how callous MC can come off....I thought we were past that.

Edit: I don't know where this story fits in the relationship chronology, but MC was written OOC if we go by his major cards Nightplumes -> Lost Oasis -> Grassland Romance -> Radiant Brilliance (not including some of the 4* cards where they get closer or dispel misunderstandings).

This is disappointing because I thought it was going to be another impactful little story like in No Way Out (which I regret not purchasing). It's one thing to be tsundere and it's another thing to just be plain mean. I would not want MC to yank shrapnel out of me and expect me to feel 'gratitude'. Or quip about pushing me out onto traffic when visually stunned. Like wtf?

And despite it all, Sylus unbelievably had MC's safety as a matter of highest priority, regardless of any injury he might take as a result, and he still wanted to have some time with her (share a meal together) and she's just blowing him off?

I'm not impressed with the characterization here.

I think the writers couldn't decide between playful/seductive/vulnerable and their version of 'sarcastic tsundere'. If they picked an overall tone and used well-placed humor to give the story levity, the seductive/teasing bits wouldn't have felt awkward.

I felt so bad for Sylus here. He doesn't deserve this.
