Sears and Kmart lose while a CEO that never put skin in the game, wins.

It’s true, both Sears and Kmart were not in great shape before the 2005 merger. But the reason we are seeing the slow collapse of these one august retailers is not because of the market. If it was, Sears’ downfall would not hurt so much. The downfall of Sears and KMart is the fault of one man. An incompetent and greedy hedge fund leader caused stores to shutter and left thousands without jobs. It is a reminder of how messed up American capitalism is these days.

Meet the two newest editions to my personal library! As of 2019, Sears is on the verge of collapse, boasting only 223 locations nationwide in the ever looming shadow of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. It's inevitable demise drawing closer, I decided to start searching for their legendary catalogues, the very ones my grandparents would tell me so much about. Older catalogues such as this are extremely rare to come by, as many people often used the pages as toilet paper!
