Some potential search engines to help you take control of your data
Searchx is pretty nice. having an internet spider or whatever they used to be called also lets you punch through DCMA sometimes.
hmm... interesting thing, but they seem a little complicated with the different instances being hosted and the option to host your own... maybe that's only cause i'm used to people hiding the details of services from me ahaha I feel like I'd only really use it if you wanted to pull results from as many places as physically possible rather than doing a general search. DDG's enough for me cause I don't have an algorithm trying to push me things i don't want, and my privacy's pretty good there already. i'm sure a crawler engine does serve its purpose for whatever you might need it for though, like seeing non-dmca struck pages and more niche pages perhaps!
if anyone's interested in learning more, here's the github repository and the docs page.
ugh qwant is doing adblocker detecting nonsense so now i have to switch engines. thinking about searxng but im combing through all of it's instances rn.

@searx
he comes in rapidly and angrily signing at the man that was of course , sitting behind the desk , because when was he not? This was all because he went too far one time and now he was again , put on probation because he destroyed one building and hurt some civilians , he caught the man didn’t he? The job got done , so when he not only got told by one of the soldiers he wasn’t supposed to be here , and a letter of officiality on his desk , that’s when he stormed to his superiors office.
it’s an angry combination of grumbled yelling , and fast signing. He’s angry , he’s frustrated , he comes here and he does his job and he does his job correctly. So now what was he supposed to do? Go home? This was his home. He doesn’t even let Roy say anything back to him , he’s too busy being pissed off , and he has a right to be!

“Just... be here.”
Those were the only words she was going to allow herself. She wanted more then that. She wanted him to hold her, to have that physical comfort. She wanted to tell him to wrap his arms around her and make her feel safe. But she wasn’t going to do that. She wasn’t going to allow herself that. But if he could just stay here, with her, it would help.
It was silly of her, really, to call him. It was just a nightmare. A nightmare mixed up with memories and guilt, sure, but still just a nightmare. A nightmare where she was a killing machine for the state, and her own team died by her hand, but still, just a nightmare. She shouldn’t have needed to call him. She shouldn’t have needed to reach out like that.
And yet, it was exactly what she needed. She needed more, honestly, but this was going to have to be enough. So she sat on her couch, the hour far passed when either of them should have been asleep, her sweater draped over her shoulders and her arms wrapped around herself.
“I’m sorry to have called you so late. I just... I needed to hear your voice. You didn’t have to come over,” although it had helped, seeing him whole in front of her, “but thank you.”
