Brown butter and a pinch of sea salt add a rich flavor to chocolate chip cookies. These cookies are a delightful combination of sweet and salty, and they are ideal for satisfying your cookie cravings.
Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter. 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1 cup packed light brown sugar. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 egg yolk. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips. Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on baking sheets. Melt the butter over medium-low heat in a medium-sized saucepan. Keep cooking, occasionally swirling the pan, until the butter turns golden brown and smells nutty. Take it off the heat and let it cool down a bit. Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a medium-sized bowl using a whisk. Put the light brown sugar, granulated sugar, and browned butter in a large bowl. Mix until it's smooth. To the butter and sugar mix, add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Combine well. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones while stirring just until everything is combined. The chocolate chips should be carefully mixed in. Place tablespoons of dough on the baking sheets that have been prepared, leaving about 2 inches between each one. Put it in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges turn golden but the middle is still soft. Halfway through baking, turn the pans over. As soon as you take the cookies out of the oven, sprinkle them with flaky sea salt. For a few minutes, let the cookies cool on the baking sheets. Then, move them to wire racks to cool completely.
