I dare someone to tell me kids in elementary school don’t really pay attention. Because Jocelynn - 3rd grade, extreme ADHD - got off her bus saying, “Good news, mom. Me & {girl she disliked all last year} are friends.” Not. Even. The. Best. Part. She said as she’d see the girl look at her throughout the day, rather than assume something negative or glare back at her, she just smiled. STILL not it. While just walking inside, I hear her quietly saying behind me “I am the salt & light”.💡 You sure are, my beauty. ❤️ #saltandlight #seasonsofmothering #momlife #blog https://www.instagram.com/p/B1rn0ftnx8D/?igshid=zz6bjsn6ht3b
Do you feel really passionate about anything? For me, it was - and is - making myself more available to my family & playing a bigger role in raising our kids. 👨👩👧👧👫 Because I wasn’t able to before then & the reality is, I had no desire to be “stuck at home” - as I used to refer to SAHM’s. But it doesn’t matter what we’re passionate about...God’s the One who puts the fire within us. 🔥 We just have to be willing to pursue it. I believe our calling comes through submitting our thoughts to Him, in hopes of fulfilling His desires for us. He has given us the necessary skills to achieve this! I remember when I first started to feel His Spirit push me to consider leaving my full-time job and be home with our kids. Our 15, 12 & 8 year olds were home by themselves whenever school would be out & even though it had been like this for awhile, that year - as the holiday break was approaching - I suddenly started to feel sick about not being with them. So the first time I remember this happening, I was reading my Bible & taking notes as I answered some of the reflection questions in a devotional. Funny enough, this all took place not long before we found out I was pregnant with Jocelynn. I think the reason God doesn’t ever give us a complete picture of things is, He wants us to depend on Him completely. Because, if I know something’s coming, I’ll probably just go try to make it happen - rather than fall on my knees & surrender to Him. Which happened a lot for me, both before & after leaving my job. Maybe God doesn’t need anything I have to give Him..but since He can use anything - or even nothing at all - to accomplish His plans, I may as well just offer all I’ve got. I believe He’s forming me into what I need to be, to fulfill His plans for me. So, I guess I’ll just keep giving Him everything I have..in case He can use it. #seasonsofmothering #familyguy #blogging #tobecontinued #fulfillyourpurpose #iguess https://www.instagram.com/p/B0oq5tcnfqF/?igshid=c7wyhl95xntb
