Day 5: Washington! We are in you! Another 500-ish miles on the struggle bus, mostly achieved by way of frantically alternating pumping brakes and tapping the gas to keep the truck in the correct gear, while simultaneously shitting little green apples on our way down the Rockies, in what I can only describe as “barely controlled plummeting”. My right calf is ablaze, and my hands may never recover from the death gripping I did today, but we saw some incredible mountain views, an army of giant windmills, I learned that much of eastern Washington is a vast expanse of low rolling hills and extreme wind, and I have gained a fully renewed love for the magical landscapes of America (and also probably some weight). I’m sure Brian is sick of being basically locked in a box wi me that is now likely permanently redolent of beef jerky, panic sweat, gas station coffee, strawberry energy drinks, (and the belched ghosts of said energy drinks) for hours at a time, but I am having the time of my life and I can’t wait to get into Seattle tomorrow! Here is a lovely view of the Columbia River from behind a scrubby little plant at Wanapum Vista Point on our way to our hotel in Ellensburg, WA! #seattleorbust #washingtonstate #columbiariver #roadtrip #strugglebus (at Wanapum Vista Point)
