Goodness knows what this soup will look like when the immersion blender finally hits it, but right now it smells glorious. Wanted to make a more interesting/nutritionally diverse version of leek and potato soup, so we roasted russets, Yukon golds, cauliflower, and a couple of parsnips with some turmeric and cumin, caramelized some sweet onion in a little bacon fat and butter, deglazed with chicken broth, and sautƩed two gigantic leeks with that. Welp, after breaking not only a glass, but also our glass pepper mill FULL OF PEPPERCORNS while cleaning the kitchen, I decided Iāve earned an extremely elaborate drink. 1.5oz Titoās, 1.5oz simple syrup, 1oz each of blood orange and lemon juice, muddled raspberries and fresh mint, shaken and strained over ice, finished with pamplemousse la croix and garnished with lemon and blood orange slices, a raspberry, a sprig of mint, and a tiny scoop of lemon @cadoicecream!
