6 years… In our lore timeline, we’ve already graduated, gotten engaged, and are living in Briar Valley at the castle — Sebek working as a Royal Guard, and me as the court painter. The wedding is already planned in our minds, but there are still a few things left to take care of…
I’ve already met the Zigvolts (Mama was so sweet at our first meeting!), and Mr. Zigvolt takes lots of photos whenever we visit. We’ve also built a good rapport with Sir Baur.
If not for the occasional hateful glances from some fae, life is great.
While sketching Sebeshka's lore, I finally designed our family crest⚡️. A lightning bolt and a thread with thorns. Its foundation is inspired by the Shield of Virtue from Book 7.
I need more Briar Valley lore in general, but also more information about Baur and his family.
Baur did emigrate from the Sunset Savanna to the north, which is an interesting detail itself… What could have made him do that? I’ve speculated that he might have been banished. Or perhaps he fell in love with Sebek’s grandmother? Maybe they moved together already?
In Lilia’s dream, it wasn’t clear whether Baur was already married at that time, or if he met Sebek’s mother during the war.
It’s pure speculation and headcanon, but considering Baur’s hatred of humans (which he partially passed down to Sebek), and the fact that Sebek’s grandmother is never mentioned - despite Baur being referenced many times in voice lines and vignettes, even in the New Year special line - we can assume she’s dead. It would make sense lore-wise if humans played a role in her death.
Since the war shown in Lilia’s dream took place 400 years ago, maybe Sebek’s mother was just a newborn baby back then, or at least a small child? We don’t know the lifespan of crocodile fae either.
If Sebek’s mother witnessed the war as a child, that would mean a lot for my sona’s interactions with her...
Imagine learning that Sebek’s fiancée also has war experience, and that her father was a war veteran too. So many interesting interactions happen during their meetings…
It’s also one of the reasons why Baur might not be so angry upon meeting Sebek’s wife - especially after realizing that he and I could bond over honoring fallen warriors (while Sebek just sits next to us, utterly confused, but trying to be respectful lol)
Trying to explain the concept of missiles and drones to faes (like fire magic, scary). And wondering why the enemy always comes from the east (not the LoTR reference)
Yeah I like thinking about this kind of fun stuff! Thanks for asking💚💚
It's a bit long, sorry. I just care very deeply about it, so I pay a lot of attention to the details😌💚

Alpherg
Parent's comment: "The brightest star of our union"
Named after Eta Piscium - the brightest star in the Pisces constellation. Since both Sebek and his wife are Pisces, they chose this celestial name for their firstborn son, as the fact that they met is a miracle and was predicted by the stars, according to them.
*In twst universe, the name Alpherg carries a positive meaning (different from the meaning in another world).
Alpherg was also the first child in Briar Valley to be officially blessed by Malleus after his ascension to the throne.
Short name is Al.
*(Since zodiacs are mentioned in characters' profiles, let's imagine zodiacs and constellations in twst are the same as in our world, but with different myths - like dosney stories)

Svetozar
Parent's comment: "Radiant light of love"
Ok, this got a bit longer, sorry, but I find this explanation funny😁😁
The second child was conceived unexpectedly and dramatically. During an extended royal assignment, Sebek had to be away from home for over two and a half months - the longest time he and his wife had ever been apart. Though they exchanged letters, the absence was deeply felt.
When Sebek finally returned home late one night, the couple's reunion was passionate, but after months of using his lightning powers in the field Sebek accidentally zapped her during the height of the act.
And she ended up with a lightning-shaped scar on her lower abdomen. Sebek was devastated, begging for forgiveness in tears, but she only laughed, finding the whole thing oddly romantic.
As a promise, Sebek swore she would have full say in naming their second child. She chose the name from her culture in the previous world:
Svetozar - combining "Svet" (light) and "Zar" (radiance, shining).
So it's a name born from longing, passion, and a literal spark⚡️
Short form is Svet.

Ibero
Parent's comment: "In honor of bloodline and guardian crocodiles, so you can always be protected by spirits of strong ancestors."
This name is born from theory and headcanon. Based on previous ideas about the naming patterns in Sebek's family (such as his grandfather being named Baur), I theorized that Sebek's mother's name could plausibly be Ibero. Please read the post.
Since her real name hasn't been revealed, I chose Ibero for her - not only because it fits the family pattern, but also because of its thematic connection to crocodiles, which she studies passionately. Also she is very close with 2 Guardian Crocodiles of the Zigvolt mansion. Whether it's because of the name or no is unclear.
Yumelore time yay
The reason why I chose a garden as the place for this template
This takes place in a post-NRC setting, where she has become the court painter and now resides in the castle. Sebek - a knight and royal guard - spends nearly all his time there as well.
Maria Oakey Dewing – Rose Garden (1901)
Their days are often filled with responsibilities, leaving only a few precious moments when they can see each other - most commonly during shared dinners, I think.
(Malleus no longer has to dine alone - the yuudia family usually accompanies him during mealtimes yay)
But on rare occasions, when fate is kind and both find themselves with free time, they go to the castle garden for a quiet stroll.
Malleus has cultivated a beautiful variety of roses, and slowly wandering hand in hand through the blooming rosaries, breathing in their magical fragrance feels so nice.
(he wanted to show it to the Prefect anyway)
The garden is vast, with a few hidden nooks concealed from prying eyes, so there's even a chance to sneak a kiss on his cheek - a very light one, we're still in public. Still, it's enough to make Sebek's heart flutter :)
These garden meetings are a tender pause from the rhythm of castle life and so, the garden has quietly become her favorite place within the castle grounds.
...
I just wonder where this garden is located because...??
Thinking about Sebeshka life in Briar Valley after graduation because I can't sleep.
Even though they're married, Sebek and the ex-Prefect live separately for a while, as the ex-Prefect is now the Court Painter for the Draconia royal family and resides in the castle.
There is an entire wing in the castle dedicated to the studio and chambers of the royal family's artisans. This is where the chambers of the Royal Painter are located, and where the new Royal Painter now lives.
This wing is located quite far from the main part of the castle, which, according to Lilia, is "just perfect since you two are newlyweds, right?" The cryptic remark is always accompanied by a sly wink and makes Sebek redder than roses in the Royal garden.
But he has a point, as Sebek sometimes visits the Royal Painter, and it is fortunate that the wing is far from the main castle... though they still try to meet on neutral ground whenever possible.
Sebek spends most of his time guarding Malleus and training, but they still meet often in the castle. Malleus, who is soon to be king and already wielding more influence, ensures that these two are always invited to big dinners and seated together.
Lilia and Silver too.
Sir Baur was initially skeptical about Sebek's wife and was convinced she had bewitched her way into the position at the castle. However, after receiving a heartwarming painting of himself and Sebek as a gift, he seemed to have become much friendlier since then.
Once, a new assistant curiously asked why - despite being the Royal Painter of the Draconia family - she had ten times more paintings of Knight Zigvolt than anything else. Other servants later explained that they were married. This was a little embarrassing.
Speaking of the assistants, one day, while Sebek and the Royal Painter were on a stroll during their day off, a small orange kitten started following them. It was so adorable that she decided to bring him back to the castle (Sebek was against it first).
Now, the kitten lives in artisians wing in the castle and has been named Meowssistant.
I find it so sweet and cute when - at the later stage of courting (still during the NRC days maybe) - whenever the Prefect mentions Malleus in conversations with Sebek as "your king" he starts correcting me, saying "OUR KING" (hinting at our future together and marriage, and how logically Malleus would become his spouse's king too)🥺💚
