Coincidence? More like fate.
I need more Briar Valley lore in general, but also more information about Baur and his family.
Baur did emigrate from the Sunset Savanna to the north, which is an interesting detail itself… What could have made him do that? I’ve speculated that he might have been banished. Or perhaps he fell in love with Sebek’s grandmother? Maybe they moved together already?
In Lilia’s dream, it wasn’t clear whether Baur was already married at that time, or if he met Sebek’s mother during the war.
It’s pure speculation and headcanon, but considering Baur’s hatred of humans (which he partially passed down to Sebek), and the fact that Sebek’s grandmother is never mentioned - despite Baur being referenced many times in voice lines and vignettes, even in the New Year special line - we can assume she’s dead. It would make sense lore-wise if humans played a role in her death.
Since the war shown in Lilia’s dream took place 400 years ago, maybe Sebek’s mother was just a newborn baby back then, or at least a small child? We don’t know the lifespan of crocodile fae either.
If Sebek’s mother witnessed the war as a child, that would mean a lot for my sona’s interactions with her...
Imagine learning that Sebek’s fiancée also has war experience, and that her father was a war veteran too. So many interesting interactions happen during their meetings…
It’s also one of the reasons why Baur might not be so angry upon meeting Sebek’s wife - especially after realizing that he and I could bond over honoring fallen warriors (while Sebek just sits next to us, utterly confused, but trying to be respectful lol)
Trying to explain the concept of missiles and drones to faes (like fire magic, scary). And wondering why the enemy always comes from the east (not the LoTR reference)
