challenge #64: chocolate

Bas knows everyone thinks he doesn't have a romantic bone in his body (he's even trying so hard with the few New Directions members that still feel he's not good enough for Blaine, by refraining from snarking or jumping on the obvious double entendre, whenever someone says that around him), so on their first Valentine’s Day as an engaged couple, he's gone all out to prove he's just as romantic as uuggh..Hummel (and a whole lot more sincere, thank you very much!) by pulling out all the stops.

He's had a few baking lessons from his big sister Aurélie, and has managed to whip up a pretty great batch of his Grand-mère's famous Chocolate Ganache Squares and some of his chocoholic Fiancé's favourite Red Velvet Cupcakes, too, if he does say so himself. He's also spent a small fortune having his favourite Parisien Confectionerie concoct a plate of personalised chocolate-covered strawberries and a trio of chocolate fondues (dark, milk, and white), then ship them from Paris to their New York apartment, and now he's almost vibrating out of his skin with anticipation and excitement, as he waits for Blaine (who thinks Bas has forgotten what day it is) to arrive at a previously designated location, of which Blaine has no prior knowledge.

He felt slightly bad when he witnessed how upset his Fiancé was that morning, as he valiantly pretended that it was just another day, but Bas has always been able to read Blaine like an open book, so he knew he was very unhappy and hurt, and it took an enormous amount of willpower not to kiss him until he was breathless and confess his plans, but he managed...somehow... picturing Hummel naked was a very effective deterrent..as always!

Of course..he wouldn't be Sebastian if he didn't have something hot and sexy in store, too - so with a smirk he places his newly purchased jar of dark chocolate swirled with raspberry-flavoured body paint in a basket, alongside the photo that he coerced Aurélie into taking when he proposed to Blaine on 23rd December. After checking the Blush Cristal Champagne is chilling at the correct temperature, he decides the scene is now set.

Now he just needs his beautiful Blaine to show up at their favourite French restaurant, which Blaine's mom should have taken care of, so he gives her a quick call to make sure all is on track, then after listening to her babble on about what a true romantic he is (and Bas would be lying if he said that didn't put a self-satisfied grin on his face), he makes sure one last time that everything is in place, has a shower, fixes his hair in a perfect quiff, changes into Blaine's favourite three-piece-suit, spritzes on his favourite sexy Cologne, then calls an Uber, as neither of them will be driving tonight, and heads off to meet Blaine.

Suffice to say, Blaine was already very touched and overcome by the dinner that consisted of all of his favourite dishes, which had been made up by the Head Chef especially for him, the Magnum of Louis Roederer Champagne, and the gorgeous Breitling watch with dual time zones for whenever Bas has to travel to Paris on business, that Sebastian gave him. So when they arrived home and the surprises continued, Blaine burst into tears at his Fiancé's romantic and thoughtful Valentine’s Day gesture..tears that only intensifed when he spotted the trail of rose petals strewn on the floor, leading to their bedroom.

Sebastian, of course, took in his Fiancé's happy tears, while sporting his loving JustForBlaine smile, and if he allowed himself a slightly smug smirk at the knowledge that Hummel had never given Blaine such a romantic night, as he started to heatedly peel the clothing from his super-hot Fiancé's body, and prepared to show his Killer B(ee) just how much he loved him, surely nobody could blame him? 😉

challenge #62: warmth

In this gif we have Sebastian and Blaine relaxing in front of the glow of the fire, with Harry, the puppy Bas gave Blaine for Christmas sound asleep under Blaine’s chin. They started the night studying, but while Bas still has his nose in a book, they put on season 11 of Drag Race, and his attention is now firmly on the screen, and far from his boring Law textbook. You can see from his little smirk (look carefully at his face) just how much he's enjoying it.

Blaine, on the other hand, is brainstorming wedding planning, and scrolling on his phone (Bas has quickly learned to pretend he doesn’t hear the litany of questions about colours, flowers, venue, Tux choices, etc. etc. etc, because Blaine is quickly morphing into a Groomzilla), and Sebastian has realised that just nodding and smiling in the right places, makes his life sooooo much easier.

After all, if he discovers he absolutely hates some factor of their wedding once it's been decided, he'll have no problem digging his heels in and nixing it, in any case!

Meanwhile, there's Drag Race to binge watch! 😊

challenge #61: frozen

Newly engaged Sebastian and Blaine have returned home to New York after spending the holidays in Ohio, and after a couple of days of settling Harry in and getting him acclimated to their apartment, Bas' older sister Aurélie who's staying for a few days, tells them to go off and enjoy themselves, while she keeps an eye on Harry.

They decide to take advantage of the snowy weather and after bundling up in warm layers, head to Bryant Park to skate. Bas is an accomplished ice skater, having trained from an early age, and Blaine can also hold his own. Bas decides to show off (of course!) his core strength, by teaching Blaine a little jump, and promising not to let him fall - a promise he easily keeps - much to Blaine’s relief. He never doubted his Fiancé (Fiancé!! Blaine loves saying that) for a second, but....sometimes even the best-laid plans can go awry!

As you can see, our beautiful boys had a brilliant time, and Bas was flashing his fond just-for-Blaine smile throughout their fun day out. 🥰

challenge #60: home

So...for all those of you who are now looking at your screens and thinking, "Really, Ail?? Of all the ideas you could have used for home, this is what you opted for??"

Yes. Yes, it is. So let me explain...

As some of you know, I spent pretty much three full months of 2020 really ill. Nothing in any way Covid-19-related, thankfully, but nevertheless, It was a very scary time, was truly disheartening because so often I took a couple of steps forwards, only to take 10 back, and was absolutely rife with fever dreams...

And that brings me to this graphic...

One night I was so feverish and ill, I just couldn't sleep and lay awake rereading a large chunk of a 275 chapter Seblaine fic that is an absolute favourute of mine. After finally dropping off to sleep, I had this very odd but very vivid and intense Seblaine dream, where Sebastian and Blaine were Angels (Sebastian was 18 and Blaine was 17) who both attended the Dalton Academy For Celestial Beings (yes, really...), But it was like the anti-canon versions of both of them, because in my (very) AU dreamworld, Sebastian was the good, benevolent Angel who did everything by the book, and Blaine was the renegade, badboy!Blaine Angel who spurned authority, rebelled against well...everything, and not only had a chip (fry, for my American friends), on his shoulder, he had an entire fish supper!

They loathed each other. Sebastian (although he thought Blaine was very hot) couldn't stand his attitude, his lack of decorum, and how he hit on every male Angel that moved (or...floated, I guess?) And Blaine hated that Sebastian was in his eyes, a goody-goody bore with no sense of fun, who had a gigantic stick up his ass. But he conceded he was very pretty...and sexy... in an annoying way.

Students at Dalton Academy For Celestial Beings, were taught how to act as Guides for teenagers who crossed way before their time. There were very strict guidelines that Sebastian followed to the letter, which was why Blaine exasperated him so much every time their entire class was made to suffer and do extra homework, simply because Blaine did the very opposite of what he was supposed to.

For example, it's pretty obvious that going up to the teen he was supposed to be mentoring and guiding "Home" and saying to him, "Dude, you're dead. Sucks, I know but you'll be fine, buddy." Then patting him ineffectually on the shoulder and walking away, is NOT how things should be handled, and yet that's exactly what Sebastian witnessed Blaine doing,

This in turn, lead to the mild-mannered Bas (I did say this dreamworld was verrrry AU) losing the plot with Blaine, and yelling at him to, "just stop fucking things up - you dick!"

Now the next bit I'm hazy on, but after a very heated war of words, and a glaring match where neither was willing to back down, the two of them ended up in a physical fight rolling around in a classroom, which ended up with Blaine pinning Bas to the ground. Whisky-honey-hazel orbs locked with those of sparkling emerald green, then.....they kissed - very, very passionately and made out for a very long time!

So, after both being stunned into a momentary silence, they each licked their kiss-swollen mouths, and talked for hours, before realising they definitely had a lot of chemistry, and quickly hit on the fact that if they combined their efforts, they could become quite the Celestial Power Couple.

Thereafter, Blaine (very reluctantly) agreed to have Bas help him with following the correct protocols, and in turn, Blaine promised to help Sebastian loosen up just a bit.

They fell head-over-heels in love with each other, to everyone's utter shock, and became the top Guides of their class.

Next bit is also hazy, and obviously they still had their fights and a bit of a battle to become a proper couple, but I'd be here all night telling you all the details, so suffice to say, in my dream, Heaven was known as "Home" and Blaine and Sebastian also saw each other as their "Home."

In many ways they were like oil and water, but in all the best ways, they were truly compatible and were each other's everything. They were quite simply - a (celestial) force to be reckoned with.

I woke up after my dream in utter astonishment, but furiously wrote it all down so that I had a reference point to look back on, then I started to create this graphic, but literally only started to draft my ideas. When I saw the seblainesundays "Home " prompt, my dream came right back to me, and I worked on it for many hours until I had it how I wanted it.

Now here's what I'm throwing out there... I loved this weird dream. I loved everything about it, because it's just such a very different concept for Seblaine... And I would love to see it become a story. A long, wonderful, exciting and romantic Seblaine endgame story.

So if any of our incredibly talented Seblaine fic writers out there fancy fleshing out my strange dream and turning it into a proper, multi-chapter fic - please feel free! I shall be forever in your debt!

I'm making those big Shrek cat eyes at you all right now....Pleaaaaseee? 🥰💜

challenge #59: snowflakes

Happy 2021, Seblainers!

Here we have Seblaine taking their first walk of the year on New Year's Day, as a newly engaged couple, with snowflakes and snow falling all around them. Harry's completely tuckered out in his bed, after his two dads exhausted him playing in the snow, so Bas' older sister Aurélie is keeping a close eye on him, while our beautiful boys enjoy some time together strolling through the park.

Later on, of course, they'll take Harry out for a long walk, but for now they're just enjoying the crisp crunch of snow under their boots, and an overall feeling of contentment, deep love and companionship. Bas will freely (and grumpily) tell anyone who asks (and even those who don't) that he "fucking hates the cold" but he puts up with it because his ridiculous fiancé turns into a big kid as soon as the first snow falls...and Bas watches on fondly with an eyeroll and his very own justforblaine smile, whenever Blaine acts like an excited puppy, and draws Sebastian out into the perishing cold to make snowmen, snow angels and kiss...a lot! That part, he loves, he thinks now, as he wraps his arms around Blaine’s tiny waist and kisses his cold nose to warm him up a bit, while pulling his scarf up to make sure his ears are covered.

As Blaine grins up at him, and pushes up onto his toes to kiss him back, while grabbing Sebastian’s lapels to pull him closer, it suddenly occurs to Bas that he now has two excitable puppies on his hands, but he couldn’t he happier about that if he tried. After all...only one of them can turn into a Groomzilla, and with the way their Wedding planning seems to be shaping up, and guests on both sides that he's never heard of, who "Absolutely MUST be invited, Sebastian" becoming part of the equation, he's very grateful for that small mercy....

Here's hoping Seblaine's 2021 and all of yours, is an amazing one that will knock the clusterfuck that was 2020 into the next Millennium! 😊

challenge #58: new beginnings

Bliadhna Mhath Ùr/HAPPY 2021, SEBLAINERS!

So, those who have been following my graphics during the festive season will know that Seblaine got engaged when Sebastian proposed on 23rd December (because he refused to become "a walking, talking gay cliché" by doing it on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day), and here in this Motion Picture mp4, we have them celebrating their first New Year as an engaged couple, looking ahead to new beginnings.

Bas and Blaine definitely took the "scenic" route to get to this point, but they couldn't be happier now, and like the rest of us, are hoping to put the massive clusterfuck of an utter shitshow that was 2020, behind them, and look forward to better times in 2021.

Accompanying song is another very dear friend and one of Scotland's finest female vocalists, Eddi Reader, singing the full version of our beautiful Scottish Hogmanay ode Auld Lang Syne (yes, and it is "Syne," NOT "Zyne" as I know those not from Scotland tend to sing), and those of you were around in the 80s, may recognise her name in fact, as she was the lead singer of Fairground Attraction, back then.

A song about seeing friends to share a drink, catch up and kick out the old year, seems especially poignant this year since....none of us can do that to the same extent as we usually would. In Scotland, we went into a second complete lockdown as of Boxing Day, so all of our celebrations this year have been of the virtual variety, only. Never mind...we'll for sure be making up for that a year from now!

I realise that most non-Scots only know the first verse of Auld Lang Syne, but the complete lyrics are beautiful, and this haunting version will stay on your minds for a long time.

As it's written in Old Scots' dialect, I will happily translate it for anyone who so wishes - well... after I've had a few Taliskers and recovered from Hogmanay, of course! 😉

#57 peppermint

In this Motion Picture mp4 we can see newly engaged (Bas' ring is twinkling away!) Bas and Blaine enjoying some of Bas' big sister Aurélie's boozy Peppermint Hot Chocolate on Christmas Day night, while Harry, the puppy that Bas gave Blaine for Christmas, sleeps soundly on...their bed! Bas has decided he's gonna let that one go - for now, but come 2021, all bets are off!

More friends singing on this hilarious Covid-19 parody of The Waitresses classic 1981 anti-Christmas anthem Christmas (W)rapping. This time it's a session band my wee brother worked a lot with pre-pandemic. They have taken a massive sideways swipe at this shitshow of a year, and if you're not laughing by the end of it there's no hope for you!!

[Those of us who were actually alive in the 80s, probably have fond memories of the original track, and hopefully this very funny parody version puts a smile on all of your faces, whether you're familiar with the song or not!]

Bonus! My beloved late (and so, so missed) dad's very own French Boozy Peppermint Hot Chocolate Recipe! Please do not complain to me if you get massive hangovers as a result of drinking this delicious (but absolutely lethal) concoction. Dad never stinted on the booze when formulating any cocktail or nightcap!

Quick And Easy Boozy Peppermint Hot Chocolate

1 1/2 oz (told ya...) Peppermint Schnapps, Crème De Menthe or Smirnoff Peppermint Twist Vodka

3 level teaspoons cocoa or hot chocolate powder

2 tablespoons sugar or 1 tablespoon coconut sugar.

1 cup milk (just use your favourite type!)

2 Candy Canes to decorate

Aerosol whipped cream

Mini Marshmallows, if so desired

Method:

Mix together the sugar and hot chocolate or cocoa powder in a large mug

Heat the milk in a microwaveable dish in the Microwave for 1 1/2 minutes (I'm using a 900w Microwave, for guidance).

Stirring all the time, gradually add your hot milk to the cocoa/hot chocolate and sugar mixture, until it's smoothly blended

Stir in the Peppermint Schnapps, Crème De Menthe, or Smirnoff Peppermint Twist Vodka. If you want to simply make it a mocktail, or are the DD, substitute Peppermint extract for the booze

Top with aerosol whipped cream and decorate with 2 Candy Canes. Add mini marshmallows too, if you want!

Drink and enjoy!

Pass out.... 😉
