[1973] Second Date Mishaps // Davey & Doe
It was the age of staring at boys too long, growing into more than just a kid, and embarassing first kisses. Fourteen years young and Dorcas was ready to explore the world so when Davey Gudgeon asked her out on a date Dorcas was more than flattered. She thought him to be utterly handsome and she liked a boy who could hold an interesting conversation. Dorcas was accustomed to boys who were more boring than engaging and the most exciting thing they wanted to do was sit on the quidditch pitch. That wasn’t Dorcas. Dorcas was about finding thrills, about talking until her voice grew hoarse, and taking every moment of her life by the horns. She couldn’t say that Davey was everything that Dorcas was looking for, I mean he was just some fifteen year old boy after all, but he never said no to a dare and that was interesting enough for her.
Their first date had gone pretty well by all accounts. They had walked around the great lake and discussed quidditch, the best pranks they had ever pulled, and the worst mischief they had ever gotten themselves into. Dorcas wasn’t one to follow normal dating etiquette and asked Davey out on a second date completely of his choosing. In crazy Dorcas fashion that next weekend she showed up at their meeting place with a basket full of food stolen from the kitchen and a huge grin on her face. “Picnic by the whomping willow?” She asked with a daring glimmer in her eye. This was Dorcas’ signature, if she really thought someone was interesting enough to make an impression she would make them do something crazy to prove it.
