Revenio
Something had changed on the planet’s surface.
The Vehicons knew the reason for it, and they felt the near electric charge in the air like a crackle against their plating, and it whipped them into a curious, almost frenzied state. None could keep still for long, or hands too idle. They knew what was coming, and they knew why he was standing there, at the edge of the building site, staring into the fading horizon with his hands clasped behind his back, still and silent as a statue.
The Commander had returned.
A single year and a handful of months had passed since his impromptu departure, and those who remained near their Lord at all times knew that Starscream’s absence had changed him. A bond was barely a bond when one had no way of stroking the flames that once fueled its passion.
And so there he stood, and they assumed he was waiting for the Commander, because there was no other reason he should stand so still, for so long, without a single word to any one of the foremen, and without giving any formal direction. If this was a meeting, it was one not intended for other’s optics, and some made haste back to the ship, or the temporary barracks set up near the completed medical building.
And still, he stood, waiting as though he would wait forever, if that’s what Starscream asked for.
[[If you have me looking for you in the wrong direction, I’m going to tie you in knots. Are you near?]]
