Scarab with Perfect Existence Signs
Egyptian/Canaanite, ca. 1648-1539 BCE (Second Intermediate Period; Hyksos; late MB IIB)
This amulet has a recreative and /or good luck connotation; the duplication of the signs should strengthen the effect. The third sign is either a fill character, or refers to the all-inclusiveness of 'perfect existence.' The scarab originally would have been mounted or threaded.

This is so interesting. It's amazing to me that we're discovering things about the Thera eruption from ancient Egyptian artefacts. And not to be picky or anything, but it's not Pharaoh Ahmose, it's King Ahmose. Pharaoh as a title wasn't used for the king until the 19th Dynasty. Just sayin'.

Additionally to the weaponry discovered with the grave goods of Ahhotep, was a necklace with three golden flies. The grave goods found in her tomb at Dra Abu el-Naga, in Western Thebes by Auguste Mariette in 1859 demonstrate her important position during her lifetime.
The fly pendants on the necklace are quite beautiful, each with two pronounced sets of wings, bulging eyes and extended parallel lines down the body portion.
Ahhotep was clearly recognised and credited for the role she played in the expulsion of the Hyksos, which resulted in the death of Seqenenre Tao II and presumably Kamose. This was an incredibly turbulent time that almost saw the end of the Theban Pharaonic line, but instead resulted in the New Kingdom; one of the most iconic periods of Egypt's long history.
The mummy was that of a teenage girl
"A 17th dynasty anthropoid coffin containing a mummy, along with a mud-brick offering chapel and a pile of mixed materials from funerary equipment, have been unearthed by a Spanish-Egyptian archaeological mission in Draa Abul Naga necropolis on Luxor’s West Bank.
The director of the mission, José Galán, explained that these objects were unearthed during excavation work carried out in the area located in front of the open courtyard of Djehuty’s tomb (TT 11)."
