I love when characters get along super well in their downtime despite meeting each other as fierce rivals. Additionally, it's adorable how they both are a combination of messy and chill that each would find relatable in the other.
This scene also definitively broke the illusion early on of Nagi being a one-note selfish loner who only cares about himself, before Episode Nagi shattered whatever was left of that idea to pieces. Not that it's in any way wrong to be brazenly self-centred considering the circumstances under which these players need to compete. Barou is literally that guy and I love him. But considering how stoic and cryptic Nagi can be sometimes, any interaction that reveals another side to him is like being let in on a little bit more of the secret around who he is and who he wants to be, both as a footballer and a person. I'm glad the anime and the spin-off give us even more of these lighter moments which show him just kidding around and making friends easily when he wants to.
