Part of his heart ached when the news reached the kingdom, the visitation of an old ally that had broken away. It had hurt him the day they had fallen out, an old friend gone. It did lift his hopes after the unfortunate encounter he had one the previous evenings to hear from the other kingdom.
Norman raises his head a bit, a hint of surprise to see her rather than the face of Otto or Rosie. It has been years, perhaps nearing a decade since the falling out, since he had seen any of the Octavius family. He hides the surprise with a light-hearted laugh, “Time has graced you well, Josephine. The last time I saw you, you were running with Harry in the gardens with so little care.”
