An ongoing issue I've been having at local larp battle games has been face/head strikes. Even though they're illegal blows inevitably they still occur. For whatever reason I seem to be a bit of a magnet for them when fighting others and it was starting to weigh down on my enjoyment of the hobby.
After many ideas and a couple of attempts I've settled on the current set-up. I've cut down an old HDPE airsoft mask and connected it to an @epicarmouryau secret helm. This protects the sensitive areas around my eyes/nose and teeth while leaving my jaw free to bellow and chat as needed. Loss of peripheral vision has been minimal. Im really liking the set-up and its been nice to avoid the usual 'skull mask' choice so common in the game.
I'm currently debating adding a nifty bushy moustache to match my ginger beard for a little flavour but otherwise happily playing with just that little bit more piece of mind
