Seven Destinations, Seven Days - Day 1

A Tiny Little Beach, Howth, County Dublin.

This secret hidden beach is a gem hiding in the Howth Cliffs. Access to the beach's descent starts by ascending to Howth Summit, where you follow the pathway to the right from the main trail. 200 metres along this path you will see a lighthouse in the distance with a set of stairs to your left that reveals this hidden gem. It is recommended to only visit this destination on a dry day due to the quality of the steps being quite poor for going up and down. Once you reach the bottom, you've reached paradise. A quiet and peaceful escape with little to no people around you.

Walked today to a “secret” beach. It’s not really a secret of course unless you don’t know where it is and now thankfully we do. Here is how you get there. You park in a car park on the Cornish coast and then walk on the coastal path for maybe 2-3 miles. I can’t be too exact. One tip I will give is: stop walking to take in the view- the path is uneven and close to the edge. The stones have been polished to a sheen with the footsteps of time. But what a beautiful place to spend a few hours. The water is crystal clear and you may even share some time with a seal or two.
