My headcannons (Espresso, Madeleine, & Strawberry Crepe Edition)

Most of this is just what my gut tells me, not necessarily canon compliant, and this is them as a family. This was also inspired by @iliketrainsneeoow.

Espresso and Strawberry Crepe gave the worst immune systems known to cookiekind. If one gets sick, so does the other.

When this happens, Madeleine makes them soup and stuff.

Espresso has to be the one to give Strawberry Crepe medicine though.

Statistically, Strawberry Crepe should've died in cryostasis for many reasons.

There are actually a lot of near death experiences they have experienced and they just laugh it off.

Strawberry Crepe hoards food and other comfort objects, but mainly food.

Strawberry Crepe will eat just about everything, even if covered in dirt. They get food poisoning a lot.

Strawberry Crepe is very good at drawing.

Both Strawberry Crepe and Madeleine are dyslexic.

Strawberry Crepe uses their waffle bots as a screen reader so they can read books and stuff more easily.

Strawberry Crepe will bake Espresso coffee flavored food whenever they need to apologize to him for something.

Espresso shows his affection (platonic & romantic) through acts of service.

Madeleine likes receiving compliments, which makes Espresso uncomfortable to say out loud, so Espresso will write down notes for Madeleine to find with compliments on them.

At first, Strawberry Crepe hated Madeleine's guts, but they warmed up to him. They still are a bit unfriendly however.

Strawberry Crepe hates when Espresso and Madeleine do any kind of public displays of affection, even holding hands.

They are all autistic, you cannot convince me otherwise.

Madeleine has ADHD as well.

Strawberry Crepe has PDA, or pathological demand avoidance (like me!) and often needs to be 'tricked' into doing things.

Madeleine was homeschooled until he went to the paladin academy.

Strawberry Crepe works really hard to be intentionally sarcastic so they can be more like Espresso.

Espresso and Madeleine have read many parenting books, mostly ones on traumatized and gifted children.

Madeleine tells Strawberry Crepe really corny puns. Strawberry Crepe prefers the ones with clever word play, but dislikes the rest.

Espresso and Madeleine will slow dance to songs in the living room (when a certain cookie isn't there to stop them)

Madeleine will bring his tech problems, especially ones he can solve, to Strawberry Crepe to try and bond with them.

Madeleine's aunties absolutely adore Espresso and Strawberry Crepe.

Madeleine and Strawberry Crepe will play fight sometimes.

Strawberry Crepe can't remember much from before cryostasis, but it sometimes comes to them in dreams.

Speaking of dreams they have a hard time sleeping and will often stay up for days until crashing. Espresso is fascinated and concerned by the fact they can do it without a stimulant.

Strawberry Crepe hates taking care of their hair, which leads to it getting matted very often.

Madeleine makes Espresso give himself free time, so Espresso has taken up various hobbies in order to fill that time.

They all have nightmares about the war, but they never say anything about them.

Espresseleine Headcannons!

Espresso secretly likes headpats and Madeleine always gives them to him when they’re in private.

Madeleine HATES when people touch his magnificent haircing, but he’s okay with Espresso doing it because he loves him so much. Sometimes, Espresso is so tempted to touch his soft, fluffy hair that he reaches out on impulse, even during a council or an important meeting lol

Espresso likes to kiss Madeleine’s battle scars and freckles (yes, I hc he has freckles)

Espresso, at first, wasn’t very good at showing affection. It took him a couple weeks to figure it out. At one point, he even read a book about it🥹🙏 But from then on, he became pretty clingy with Madeleine. He even started engaging in some tame PDA (nothing really intense, however. He has a reputation to uphold.)

Espresso calls everyone “dear”, both sarcastically and affectionately, but Madeleine gets Princess Treatment ™️ and gets “dearest” instead.

Madeleine likes to call Espresso “Es,” “Essie,” “‘Spresso,” “love,” “angel,” “darling,” “sweet brew (coffee pun),” “starlight,” etc.

Espresso likes to call Madeleine “Maddie,” “Leine,” “Made,” “dearest,” “darling,” “tresoro (espressos are of italian culture),” etc.

Bonus: Espresso apologised after shouting at him in LCS, and Madeleine apologised as well for fumbling the team and talking over him and ignoring his opinions, as well as everyone else’s. They’re also a very healthy couple and their communication only improves the longer they’re together and mature together!
