Secret Wars 2099 #1

Secret Wars 2099 #1 (came out May 27th) was written by David with art by Sliney and it was good. Black Widow is on a date until the Avengers called her in. The team consists of Iron Man (Sonny), (female) Captain America, Hercules and, Hawkeye and they work for Alchemax. The Chain Gang is a group of robbers and they stole some gems. The Avengers stopped them but, with minor collateral damage. Herc fell onto a lady's car and tried to assault her and, Black Widow almost used her stingers to kill a Chain Gang member. Captain America reports to Miguel about Hercules' drunkenness and she is dismissed. It's revealed that Cap goes through a transition to go to a civilian lifestyle after each time of doing heroic deeds. Miguel went to go talk to Hercules and he's going through grief. Iron Man check on Vision and she says, “the Defenders are coming”. Up next, Secret Wars 2099 #2 (out 6/10)...

(Late Review) Spider-Verse #1

Spider-Verse #1 (came out May 20th) was written by Costa with art by Araújo and it was good.

After the events in Secret Wars #0-2, Dr. Doom has become a “God” and created Battle World. This region is called Aranchnia (#16 on the map) and is ruled by Norman Osborn. Spider-Gwen fought some grave robbers and looked at “her” gravestone. At the Navy shipyard, Spider-UK and Anya (as Spider-Girl) stop Fancy Dan and his gang from getting their shipment. Spider-Man India is observing the fight until a group of someones ambushed them. The Spiders escaped and discussed their amnesia. Spider-Gwen also has amnesia and is trying to figure it out. Gwen works at Mayor Osborn's Ozcorp and it took awhile until she had the opportunity to check out the special projects wing. She got in there and found Spider-Ham in a hospital bed chained up and drugged. Norman caught her in the act of saving him. Spider-Ham also has a story and it explains how Norman Osborn caught him. Up next, Spider-Verse #2 (out 6/10)...

(Late Review) A-Force #1

A-Force #1 (came out May 20th) was written by Bennett and Wilson with art by Molina and it was good.

After the events in issues #1 and #2 of Secret Wars (read my reviews on issues #0 and #1), Battle World was created by Dr. Doom. Dr. Doom rules the world and has appointed regions to certain people, good and bad. This region is called Arcadia (#35 on the map) and is ruled by She-Hulk and her team, A-Force. This team of all females from the past, present and, future protect their citizens from any threat. Today, the threat is a monster shark from the deep water surrounding Arcadia. It tried to eat boaters and a couple of A-Force members until, Ms. America (from Young Avengers) fought the shark. She beat the shark and flung it over the “S.H.I.E.L.D.” wall. Falcon-Thor came to Arcadia to arrest Ms. America for disobeying Doom's Law. The law states, “No on breaks the borders and/or sends a threat to another land”. Ms. America didn't do this to be mean, she did it to protect Arcadia and her teammates. She was sentenced to life (no matter how long or short) to the “S.H.I.E.L.D.” wall. Up next, A-force #2 (out 6/17)...
