FEMBA | UCLA Section Wars 2014
The inaugural UCLA Section Wars marked the last social event of the year for UCLA FEMBA students. The detail-oriented social chairs planned an entire day of events, involving many middle-school pastimes. Except now, the many six-foot-plus, type A, male, aggressive MBA students make the games more terrifying than fun. Needless to say, my shorter-than-average section came in dead last but definitely created many hilarious memories.
The events:
Human Pyramid We did surprisingly well in this event, but so did all the other sections. I did not expect to make a four-level human pyramid.
Jousting
An individual level competition, in which Nick won our section third place. Fear not, the jousters used inflatable cylinder shapes to hit each other. No sharp objects involved.
Volleyball & Dodgeball
The title of the events explain it all. At one point, we split our team between the two events due to schedule conflicts.
Zorb Ball Relay
Just watch the video. It is as fun as it looks.
Water Balloon Toss
What one did as child, but the water-balloon travels much further in your late 20s and early 30s.
Cornhole
The event all non-athletic people participated in. Throw bags into a hole, which actually proved quite difficult.
Tug of War
The event, like many of the other events, where having the largest people served as an advantage.
Crazy Relay
The relay involved spin around a bat several times, leap-frog, three-legged race, wheel-barreling, and walking with an egg in a spoon. Due to some misunderstanding, our team came in last but provided the most humorous performance.
