Really?! That was the first thing she said?! Such a stupid question with a very obvious answer of 'yes'. And she knew the tell tale signs of an all-nighter! Not only had she seen Dà-gē succumb to such a thing more than once, but she had done so herself plenty. Gods what a stupid question. She was quite tempted to grab her fan to smack it against her head at the foolishness, but that would only serve to make her look like an idiot. Or more like one rather. So instead she just waited for said obvious answer. It's likely she seemed like she was staring intently at him, when really she was more lecturing herself in her mind.
It wasn't until after Jiāng Chéng spoke that she finally started to come out of her thoughts. Then it still took a little longer for her to refocus and when she did, the silence had stretched on for a minute. She stifled a chuckle at his reaction to the ink dripping. She wasn't sure how though.
"Sorry Wanyi-um, I mean, Jiāng-zōngzhǔ, for showing up unannounced!" she says, bowing. "One of your disciples told me to just go ahead in to drop this off before waiting for you at the meeting hall...," she said, holding up, unfortunately for him, more paper. A letter to be precise. "Dà-gē said it wasn't high priority though! He asked if I could deliver it and to feel free to see if I can help out with anything," she explained. Nevermind that she left out the part that he probably just used the letter as an excuse so she would stop annoying him about coming to help. "I also brought tea and Qinghe wine as a gift," she continued, holding up a basket. "But maybe I should just let you sleep instead," she said, brows furrowed.
