2. The most disturbing movie I’ve ever watched: Pi (not The Life of Pi, just Pi). It’s a full length movie spent in the mind of a very lonely man with a dangerous obsession that isolates him from the people who care about him and the way his migraines are portrayed mimics sensory overload and I got physically nauseous and my anxiety flared up. But it was a really good movie too.
9. Most aesthetically pleasing movie you’ve ever watched: It’s a toss up between The Fall (2006) and Babette’s Feast. If you like visual storytelling, The Fall will captivate you, and if you are a foodie, Babette’s Feast will enchant your senses.
11. You’re favorite movie genre: I love movies that focus on one or two individuals and try to tell their stories fully. I guess you could call those “character pieces”. Midnight Cowboy, Annie Hall, and Wings of Desire are movies that demonstrate this beautifully.
21. A film with an amazing soundtrack: There’s no way I can pick just one. The Mission’s soundtrack functions well as a way to convey tonal shifts in the movie. At the same time, how can I not recommend the soundtrack to Ghost in the Shell? If nothing else, “The Making of an Android” is worth your time. Blade Runner’s soundtrack perfectly captures the atmosphere Ridley Scott was hoping to convey. I could mention many more, but I’ll stick to these for now.
