How secular observance can work: "Yeah, I celebrate Jesus's Birthday, Jesus's Resurrection Day, and The Night Before All Saints' Day, but I don't really do the overtly religious parts."
How it absolutely does not work: "Because I celebrate these Christian holidays secularly, they're actually not religious holidays at all and there's no reason for non-Christians to not want to celebrate them as well, so if you don't celebrate them you're a bad person. Also, if you so much as mention Hanukkah around me I'll get mad at you for shoving your religion down my throat."
