You know me. I don't usually post my spells or take part in group spells, but last night I made an exception and did a spell at the same time as the only witchcraft facebook group I enjoy did a group spell.

I'm generally annoyed at the blanket "Hex the president" spells because... I'm pretty sure this whole country is cursed at this point. That shit has spilled over on to the rest of us. Non focused curses may make the caster feel better but, in my opinion, that doesn't help i a focused way.

The spell is for people to see him for the shitty self obsessed person he is and that he doesn't care about anything else and let that inform their voting.

I kept my stimulus check after I did a digital deposit. It's got his signature on it! Just offered that up to the world because he's such a narcissist he needed people to know it came from him. I drew glasses over his name, put him in my "eyes on you" reusable spell jar, and charged it with an orange candle dressed with black pepper.

When you see a wrong description of secular witchcraft on another website that says it’s the same as atheist witchcraft and try to correct them with a lengthy explanation on the difference, then they change it and they still get it wrong. Why do I even try?

What’s the meaning of Beltane and what should be celebrated?

Is this a joke ask? Did I not just reblog a wall of May Day posts, answer a question about not celebrate Beltane, and a reblog of a joke about the ridiculousness of asking a secular witch about a religious practice?

Okay, fine.

Beltane is a Holiday in the Wicca religion's Wheel of the Year outlining the life cycle of their God and goddess. Sure, it was inspired by past agrarian cultural celebrations for spring and fertility, but it has arrived as a non-denominational pagan holiday and by that, also a holiday in some witchcraft traditions.

To me, it is religious and I'm a secular witch and so I do not celebrate it. I made up my own seasonal celebrations instead because I like the idea of having reasons to celebrate and taking time out of a busy schedule to slow down and appreciate what's around me.

Not all witches celebrate the Wheel of the Year or the phases of the moon for that matter.

Hi there! I’ve seen you mention ‘archetypes’ multiple times, can I ask you what you mean? The concept seems interesting to me!

Let’s see how much I can say without getting to specific about my personal practice.

While I am an agnostic secular witch, I am also a soft animist and I believe there is power in archetypes as symbols. Sometimes these archetypes and symbols are represented with colors, plants, images, other things. Sometimes they are even represented as deities and I do honor messenger archetypes in this fashion sometimes. There are many messenger archetypes represented as dieties but are a few in particularly that I honor. As a small business owner who has worked in mail order for over 20 years, I’ve found this a helpful addition to my work and my practice.

is there such a thing as secular witchcraft

like I definitely like rituals and finding little knickknacks and burning incense and thinking about omens and astrology and dream interpretation, like I find it all very soothing and the meditative qualities are A+

but I’ve been burned by religion a lot and I definitely think that like, magic is 100% not a real thing, is there a secular system that I could use to be like “hey just want to pretend we’re not helpless flecks alone in a universe that is not and has never been about us”

like i’m not into shitting on actual beliefs or cultures or anything I just want to fool around with sage and burn candles and pretend it means something
