soothe — what’s one thing that always makes you feel better when you’re upset?
“ i’ve never been much of a stress eater, but baby cravings are hard to ignore. now when i’m feeling low and can’t escape the thoughts in my brain, i find that food can be a great comfort. and the best one? strawberries. they are so sweet, a little sour, just enough to make you occasionally crinkle your nose. they can easily satisfy my grumbling stomach. my father used to bring them back for me when we lived at the hospital in anchorage. they remind me of happiness and family, they taste like sugar and home, and they make little one pretty happy too. ”
