The One Matters: A Reflection on Matthew 18
Tonight, I couldn’t sleep. So I turned to Scripture—and wow, did Matthew 18 hit different.
Jesus tells the story of a shepherd who leaves 99 sheep to find the one that wandered. Not because the one was more important, but because every single one matters. Even the messy ones. Even the ones who drift. Even me. Even you.
This parable isn’t just about salvation—it’s about how we treat people. It’s a call to:
Notice who’s missing
Pursue with compassion
Celebrate restoration
Never give up on the “little ones”
God doesn’t write off the wanderers. He goes after them. That’s the kind of love I want to live out.
