Connor McCarter Is A Boss!
The first time I met Connor, I asked him if he had any plans for after high school.
His response? "I want to be a minister." I was surprised and impressed! A small part of me also thought, "OK, check and mate. This kid's all done. Sweet!"
Since that time, he's been through some hard stuff. He's worked through lots and lots of doubts. He's struggled through relationships. He faced a shortage of credits as he approached graduation and somehow made it work. He landed (and has, so far, kept) a part-time job. Bought and wrecked his first car. And that's only the stuff I know about!
In the middle of all that, through all of that, we've seen Connor grow a ton! He came out the other side of those doubts with a stronger and more convicted faith. He's begun serving with our middle school students. Heck, he's even stepped way out of his comfort zone and has taught our Sunday Morning Bible Study for them a few times!
He's still figuring out what's next for him, but I know this much: The kid is going to do awesome things, wherever he lands. He's loaded with passion, mercy, a love for others, and a love for God. I couldn't be more proud!
